Boeing Opens Kuala Lumpur Office to Support Malaysia’s Aerospace Growth

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, July 16, 2025 — Boeing [NYSE: BA] today inaugurated its new office in Kuala Lumpur at Menara Hap Seng 3, in the presence of Honourable Minister, YB Liew Chin Tong, Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) Malaysia; the United States Ambassador to Malaysia, Edgard D. Kagan; Ts. Shamsul Kamar Abu Samah, Chief Executive Officer, National Aerospace Industry Coordinating Office (NAICO); Boeing employees, representatives from the Malaysian government and Boeing’s partners in Malaysia.

The opening of Boeing’s new expanded corporate office in Kuala Lumpur reflects our deep commitment to the Malaysian government, our employees, customers and partners in the country,” said Penny Burtt, president, Boeing Southeast Asia. “This office will serve as a pivotal hub to advance our efforts in customer support, aviation safety, sustainability and supply chain in Malaysia, home to one of the largest aviation markets in Asia-Pacific.”
YB Liew Chin Tong, Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) Malaysia, said, “I welcome Boeing’s continued support in driving forward Malaysia’s Aerospace Blueprint 2030. With this office expansion, Boeing has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a resilient and sustainable supply chain anchored in Malaysia, to the whole Asia Pacific region. With our robust industrial ecosystem, strategic geographical position and stable talent supply, Malaysia is well-positioned to be an aerospace hub for the region. We also appreciate Boeing’s efforts in developing local talent to support its operations in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah.”

As a leading global aerospace company, Boeing’s relationship with Malaysia dates to 1947 when Malayan Airways Limited acquired its first Douglas DC-3. Boeing and Malaysia have worked in partnership for 78 years to support the development of aerospace and defense capabilities in the country. The Boeing Composites Malaysia facility in Kedah provides composite products and subassemblies for all Boeing commercial airplane models and is Boeing’s first wholly owned manufacturing facility in Southeast Asia.
Today, Boeing presence in Malaysia covers commercial aviation, defense and services, manufacturing, supply chain development, safety training, sustainability workshops and studies, university collaborations and community support initiatives.
