Boeing Commercial Airplanes

The long-standing relationship with Singapore and Boeing Commercial Airplanes started when Malaysia-Singapore Airlines purchased 707s in 1968 and embarked on a frequent fleet modernization strategy.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) introduced 777s into its fleet in 1995, beginning with an initial order for 34 jets and later launched the 787-10 in 2013, becoming its inaugural Dreamliner operator in 2018. SIA is part of the launch group for the 777-9, with deliveries starting in 2027 for 31 jets on order. Over the years, SIA has ordered more than 200 Boeing airplanes, including the 737, 747, 757, 777, and 787 Dreamliner.

Scoot, SIA’s low-cost subsidiary, operates 787-8 and 787-9 jets, while SIA Cargo flies 747-400 and 777 freighters. SilkAir merged into SIA in 2021.

Singapore-based BOC Aviation, a leading global aircraft leasing company, has partnered with Boeing for over 20 years and holds more than 350 Boeing airplanes in its portfolio, including 737, 777, and 787 families.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security

Boeing has supported Singapore’s defense needs since the early 1990s. The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) operates AH-64D Apache Longbows, F-15SG fighters, and CH-47 Chinooks, which have been vital in global disaster relief. In 2021, RSAF began receiving CH-47F helicopters, achieving full operational capability in 2024 to support missions such as search and rescue, aeromedical evacuation, troop lift, and humanitarian assistance.

Boeing works closely with the Ministry of Defence, Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), and the Singapore Armed Forces. In 2022, Boeing and DSTA signed agreements to enable collaborative data analysis for RSAF’s Boeing fleet, starting with supply chain data for F-15SG aircraft to enhance operational readiness. In September 2025, the Ministry of Defence announced plans to acquire four P-8A Poseidon aircraft to strengthen maritime surveillance and counter sub-surface threats.
